Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

Update: figured out why I've been having such a hard time dialing in the caster angle It's tough to see in the picture but relative to stock the lower arm is not just a +2 wide but also a bout 3/4 forward. The stock a arms have the ball joint a hair behind center and the shock mount a bit ahead...

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

I'll have to double check when they are off I think it's 16 or 16.5. Apparently they were off an 07 yfz450

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

So for anyone thinking "oh wow race suspension is super cool look at all them adjustments!" It's a huge pain in the ass. Buy an angle finder, and assume that your old frame is bent and your new parts were built on a friday.. I must have taken them ball joints out a half a dozen times each before...

    1987 Yamaha Warrior 350

No better or worse than the later years, just different

    1987 Yamaha Warrior 350

Engine wise the biggest difference is the stator. The main changes they made on the later models are the electronics and the front suspension geometry

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

Tldr; the new designed full flight a arms no longer work with carb model yfz shocks and are instead a fit for stock length shocks, but the build quality is nice.

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

Well guys, I did everything I could to make sure this operation went smoothly, did as much research as I could to make sure what I was doing made sense. I wanted simple, tried, and true but instead... I'm a cautionary tale. Can't even be mad because they literally fixed a mistake with the old...

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

Update: reached out to full flight and apparently this is an updated design, just not one that fits the description or pictures. They are still in the process of changing things on their website and the picture/description is more or less a placeholder. Apparently the hiems are all upgraded...

Asr vs NEW full flight a arms

Update: Got the definently completely new and redesigned full flight a arms I'm a bit annoyed because I preferred the bushing design for longevity and I had to wait for them to make these, which it looks like they took an old set off the shelf and swapped on the new ball joint ends.

    2001 warrior rear axle

This is the only thing worrying me about the axle... the groove they put in the expanding nut doesn't totally cover the snap ring like it does on the other side. Anyone familiar with this, is it normal? I'm considering having a machine shop make the groove a little deeper for safety sake

    Clutch advice?

Pulling the judder springs seems to have helped but it still isn't perfect. Running the original lever and likely cable too. You might be onto something with the cable being worn/stretched... if I don't upgrade to the raptor set up I'll at least replace the old one

Build thread and some thoughts on progress

Yeah the hub nuts being rode loose before I got the quad is one of the reasons i replaced the axle and hubs. The splines were just hammered. I've got every bolt I've touched paint marked for exactly that reason, easy to recheck. The axle is a niche adjustable one (same as the tusk/gforce) with...

    Clutch advice?

Also quick side note... aside from a cable which bits and bobs do you need to do the raptor clutch mod? Figure while I'm in there...

Build thread and some thoughts on progress

It's back on all four wheels till the front stuff comes in. The suspension is buttery smooth and my rear brakes actually stop. This niche axle is weird with the clips, the big nut side especially but so far so good. Next step is to tinker with the clutch again and if I have time this week do the...

    Clutch advice?

Got an ebc carbon clutch, didnt come with instructions so I installed it with the judder springs like factory. It never wants to fully let go and if I adjust it so it does it slips at wot. Gonna take it apart and remove the springs to see if this solves my problems but in the event this clutch...

    Show off your builds!

Damn dude that's alot of engineering! It's cool to see people thinking outside the box as it were. How's the thing ride?

Build thread and some thoughts on progress

Sadly ran out of time past this point but that's how things go. I'm not in a crazy rush, my a arms are still probably 2 weeks out and I've got some other matinence things to do so I'm taking my time with it. Everything that's supposed to move has grease, everything that's not supposed to move...
