Is the short snorkel in place? it comes out of the top of the air box lid and extends towards the gas tank. Try comparing to one of the online parts catalogue diagrams to see if anything is missing.

If you don't see any obvious signs of an air leak, Make sure it's not a combo of problems. Def sounds like it's running lean but at least take the throttle cable plate off the side if the carb and visually confirm that the throttle is closing all the way. That way you know that a lean issue is...

I have a bone stock '05, I just picked up a pro designs pro flow air filter kit with a UNI style foam filter. Does anyone know if it will be necessary to re-jet? Pro Design recommends it in the instructions, but i'm still running stock exhaust. Has anyone with this set up had any lean issues...

Do you guys think that a pipe and jetting would make up for lost power with 25" tires, yet give me a bit more top speed from the larger radius tires? I could use a few more MPH to keep up with the bigger machines on the flats but I don't want to give up any nut.

I was thinking about getting the same tire. They look like they would be killer and they are one of the very few radials that come in 23". My buddy just put the radial big horns on his griz and said he will never go back to bias ply tires again. Would you get the reapers in 23" ?
