    exhaust bolts

Heads are not a big deal to change. If you dont already have one, buy a repair manual. They are only like $25 and pay for themselves the first time you open it up!

    exhaust bolts

Not sure how JBweld will hold upto that kind of heat. I think you will be fixing again. What do you have to lose, try it, cheap fix. If it doesnt work on the other hand you are just creating more work.

    exhaust bolts

There's a hole that's been "tapped" a few times...lol. Good luck, that SOB has given u a tough go.

    Uh oh...

Well there are alot of bearings in the engine cases, but the crank is by far the biggest set of bearings. I don't know when ur work was done but I would call the boys at Duncan and tell them ur problem. Take a picture of what you found in the bike and post here if u can, we will figure out what...

    carburetor problem

Either use an easy out(probably too small a screw though), a small pair of vise grips(get a good grip and twist) or tap a screw driver with a hammer into the screws and they will bite(this works really well), or if u have a dremmel and cutoff disk make a new slot in the screw. Then take the...

    busted left crank case cover

Everytime I have taken the engine apart to replace a crankshaft, I pulled the right side case off while lying it on the left side. All the gears stayed in the left side case no problem. As far as changing the left case, I dont know if u can leave all the gears in the right side. Probably will...

    Uh oh...

A ball bearing? I have pulled a few motors apart and can't think of where the plastic rod would come from. Did you ever have any work done on it? Like how they find surgical tools in patients xrays..lol. That's weird man!

    Tank Issues

Flush out the tank with some gas? Maybe take it off the bike so you can really make sure every drop is out! You may even need to flush the carb! I really don't have a clue as if this will work, just a suggestion.

    Wanted-Piece off stock carb

That's not the piece I was talking about, I don't have that. Sorry man! I have 3 carbs and I dont see that part on any of them!

    timeing chain

I don't know how your chain can be too short. It must be caught on something. Drain the oil, take the stator cover off and check it out! Get it back on the lower sprocket, slip it on the top sprocket and line up the timing marks. Install the cam chain tensioner and reseal the stator cover.
  11. F

    timeing chain

you dont need to take the head off to get the chain on. If it did come off the bottom sprocket and u cant get it back on, then take off the stator cover and put it back on. Off course you will most likely need a new gasket or buy some gasket goooo. I dont know what ur talkin bout the 1/8 or 1/4...

Be careful, always ride trail first

I have always been afraid of **** like that. I knew of someone years ago riding a skidoo that nearly was decapitated by a wire, ******* cocksuckers. Your friend is in a business that you cannot disclose but you ride with someone who also works in the police dept?

    Smells like Electrical

Just look all your wires over real well. You might have to take the fender and tank off but the time spent doing that as opposed to time spent tugging your quad home is worth it. If it is burning you should be able to spot it.

    head gasket

I agree that the base gasket is starting to leak, but like they said in an earlier post I wouldnt worry about it until it really starts leaking more and you may just need a new Oring on the valve cover or just retorque the cover bolts after cleaning the mess up. Also, the head gasket you keep...

    busted bolt

Buy an easyout set. Just drill a hole in the bolt, insert easyout and out she comes, usually!

    header bolts broken

I took mine off! Thats a pretty tough place to get into if the engine is still in the frame.

    Parking Brake block off

and it's much better looking than that ugly setup!

    removing crankshaft

I used a rubber mallet, just tapped the end . I hope you HAD to take all the guts out, because you can replace the crank with the tranny still in the left case!
