going to look at a 92 wardog

Yup, they're going for $500 and up here, too. $800 quads can easily turn into $1600 quads before you swing a leg over 'em. The list of what to look for is too long to type unfortunately. First thing I look for is cleanliness and originality. Second is butchering, as in pipe wrench or hammer...

going to look at a 92 wardog

Maybe i'm off on the year of mine. It's shocks are already covered, and the rest has already been looked over many times. Plastic is a real light gray: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/2532242734.html Drive on up here to Pittsburgh. I put about an hour on it today for the first time since...

Carb question now that it is rolling again...

Accelerator pump circuit partially clogged. The circuit has tiny orfices, both in the bowl and the brass outlet itself. Soak, clean, use tiny stainless wire to clear if necessary and clean again. Remove the pilot jet and do the same to its circuit as well while you're there. It's just as tiny...

They help with the Metzeler Meltdown! All the rage in 1987! LOL

    piston to wall specs

Dunno what the spec is but is probably a little looser than published OE, being it's a forged slug. Maybe check w/ Wiseco online? I probably wouldn't worry too much unless the jug is scored or obviously worn. Crosshatch still visible? Rering it and let 'er eat...

Dear Yamaha Engineer.... how stupid can you be?

Vee Dub, tell us how you REALLY feel! :haha: I just spent 4 hours on my 5.0 Mustang, taking off the water pump (should be 30 minute job, tops). Broke 2 bolt heads off. And they screw into blind holes in the heads. May have bent the timing chain cover while using caveman tools to unstick pump...

    this is very strange?

Sounds like the seal was bent...? Dunno...hard as hell to read that :0 If the valve is/was bent, the seat probably needs reground and lapped along with a new valve too.

    Damit! starter finally went

You'll need the valve cover and rocker arm for the compression release also. You can pull start it without one, but... it's a rope breaker...don't say nobody warned you...:iagree:

    Wolverine project

NOT MINE, found in local Pittsburgh craigslist. My garage is so full now I can't put a toothpick in it, so I'm passing it on: http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/2553145204.html .

Long rambling post with questions about my 2003...

X2 on the clear spray paint or hair spray for grip glue. I used yellow paint once... just once. Made a mess. When you install them, hose a nice shot inside of a grip and SLAM it on FAST; hurry and set it where you want it, 'cause once it sticks (read: really fast), it's on for good.

    My '93 Warrior for sale

Used to be able to, I think they're all discontinued. Google "innova tires". Definitely different.

    Twin cyl 500cc Warrior build

Oh, and be VERY careful with the slide/diaphragm. Handle it like a million dollar egg. It will make you say swear words if you tear one. Just sayin' :)

    Twin cyl 500cc Warrior build

Will need to know the year of the engine. Looks like Factory and Dynojet still make 'em. Google EX500 or Ninja 500 jet kit. Very popular inexpensive roadracer bike, lots of tuning info available. I know that simply removing the stock filter and lid would make my Ninja 900's not even start, so...

    Twin cyl 500cc Warrior build

Be prepared to install a Dynojet or similar carb kit if you change either the airbox or exhaust the slightest bit. CV carbs are a PITA and very sensitive to flow changes.

    Heel guards

Might something like this work for drain holes? http://www.amazon.com/Greenlee-Punch-Piece-Bearing-Drive/dp/B00011Q68S The sets aren't cheap to buy. Probably could borrow one from an electrician friend. They punch nice clean edged holes without hacking up plastic or thin sheetmetal. I use them...
