My D.I.Y. Airbox lid Mod, step inside.

Not sure what a book sock is. It's alot like tent material, only thinner. I used 4-ply, so I could stagger the cross sections.

    couple ?'s bout jetting

Cool figured it was that easy, just wanted to make sure. 'Sorry about the thread jack jgray.

    couple ?'s bout jetting

So, for clarity. Backing the mix screw out, lets in more air, correct? If popping occurs from to much fuel, is the 1.25 turns OUT that I turned it, going to make that much difference at WOT?

    couple ?'s bout jetting

I'm at 867ft so I'm in the 0-2000' range. The dealer didn't have the replacement 45jet. When I checked the Fuel mix screw it was 1 turn out, and with the 150 jet, and open lid, I was cutting out at full throttle. I never checked W.O.T. with the 147.5, and the screw at 1 turn out. I am going to...

No spark, is it the stator?

I hate you people. All we have is boring ass prairie, and a **** ton of ag land, with veins of trees throughout. We have to drive a few hours south to get to the good ****.

    couple ?'s bout jetting

Ok, found that. Wasn't sure on it. I just went and checked mine. It was out 1 turn. That should be lean correct? I backed it out a full 2-1/4 turns. If I was cutting out with to much fuel with a 150 jet, but the mix screw was lean? Is it a valve issue. Should I put the 147.5 back in? I really...

    couple ?'s bout jetting

Glad I clicked on this thread. I JUST finished putting my 150 main in, and went out, and it was like I was hitting a limiter. Before my airbox mod, it was the same thing. It has a 147.5, and I didn't run it long with it in, and just swapped the jet out. So looks like I'll be putting it back...

My D.I.Y. Airbox lid Mod, step inside.

Airflow has been my business for 15 years. Here is a CONDENSED version of all that: There are two components when factoring any machine that consumes air. - How MUCH it can consume in a second/minute/hour/ - What velocity is it moving the air at in FPS/FPM/FPH.(which has a limit) That's it. So...

Not sure. I'm going to test it on a piece of fabric to see. I have one can that is a tent sealer, so it's a no-go. The other is a silicone spray, that blocks water, but allows for ventilation.

On my brothers that is 3-ply, he said no water got in his, when he was in the creek. Mine is 4-ply, so it should be even more water-proof. I plan on spraying camp-dry on it, to further protect it. The velcro is a good idea. The upside is, galvanized metal is made for moisture, so in theory you...

What's with all the Warrior hate???

I like riding my brothers ltz400, but it just not as tight trail friendly to me, as the warrior is. Plus I like torque, and the Warrior feels like it has more low end. The LTZ is definitely quicker, and feels lighter, but on the jump we've been playing on, the Warrior seems to be the better...

What did you do to your quad today?

Installed the barkbusters and airbox mod.

Appreciate the compliments, but up close they aren't much. It probably wouldn't win best of show, but it'll do. I shouldn't say they won't strip, but they are less likely to. We use the screws for fastening sheetmetal together(they are self tapping and tapered). As long as you stop running the...

I'm about 99.9999% sure this just started tonight, since I changed the lid. I need to get into my carbs, and rule out jets. Appreciate the tip though, and I will look at that if the decel pop continues.

Carb Jet Conversion Chart. I'll leave it here

My brother sent this to me, it's a C&P off Suckzuki Central: There was some doubt to the accuracy, but I think it's been found that it's pretty dang accurate. This may clear up future headaches for some of us:tup:

Looking for upper and lower chain rollers/battery strap

Like it says. Need a strap, and the rollers. Used is fine, as long as they have some life left in them. Let me know what it will cost, shipped to 64048. Thanks, Kris.

Jets will be the first thing. I'm getting ready to start my jetting debacle, here in the next few days.

I'll add, you'll need to buy the material(color of your choice). I'll make the plate easy enough. I could do the whole lid, if it was sent to me, with the material. Just pay shipping both ways. It WILL work with the outerwears as well, But, because I suck, I had to do this for the time being.

The whole thing took me a half hour or so. I'll make some up in my spare time. All you'll need to do is pay for shipping. I'll need to know the size of the whole, and the MAXIMUM outside dimension the plate can be.
