Hey Guys, I could really use your help... My son and I just did the 95 big bear oil cooler mod on our 2003 warrior. Used all the recommended parts spring, tab, Etc. under the c-clip. Used the 401 tranny cooler added oil, ran it a bit. Topped it off so that we know the cooler was full. Ran it up and down the street and it sounded like I was not getting oil to the top end. Shut it down before any damage. I was told by my local high pressure fitting and line company that I could use the american threads but with teflon tape on the barb fittings.... I cant believe I got this advice from a professional. They leaked. Could I be loosing enough oil pressure from the leak around the threads that it was not pumping oil to the top end? Please...Any advice would be really appreciated. Also, Does anyone have a photo of the bolt on the head where you can check the oil flow to the head? Thanks

You might hhave the adaptor on wrong, it will go on two ways. On the adaptor their is a V cast into it. It is under the cover, if you remove the outer cover you will see what I am talking about, it shoul look like this ">". not this "V".

The oil "inspection" bolt is DIRECTLY behind the right rear head bolts. It's very easy to spot. Pretty much just look under the fuel tank on the right side and you will see an 8mm bolt with a copper washer. Just lossen it a little and start er up. If oil doesn't come out within first 1min of run time shut it down (as per manual). Just don't go crazy tightening it, it is hollow. You could be loosing enough pressure at the fitting if it is pouring out. A little drip isn't enough to cuase a huge pressure loss. I did the big bear cooler on mine and NPT fittings do fit. Just have to use a fair amount of teflon tape to seal em up. You gould always get gasol (think thats how it's spelled) and apply that to the threads. Used that all the time on skid steer high pressure hydraulic fittings, when I was runing them. Are you sure it's the fittings that are leaking, and not the barbs where the hoses go on? I used steel braided line on mine. Check that. If the hoses fit tight but are leaking try applying black rtv to the barbs then slip the hoses on.
