Is there any way to spin the motor over faster? My wheeler sometimes doesnt start, but you can pull it behind another fourwheeler n it starts right up. Is there a battery that has alot of juice or something that would fix this? Thanks

have you checked the harness for any wires grounding out on frame like by the rear brake resevior on the left side thats what happened on my 94 one of the wires grounded out on the brake line coil thing on the outside of the brake line between the airbox and the resevior and the ony way she would start is to push it down a hill and pop clutch as soon as I taped that wire up she fired off no prob with starter

this sometimes happens when the stator is on its way out .. time to get the multimeter out and test the stator

I have pretty much the exact issue that the OP is talking about and the stator was one of the things I was thinking it may be.Ughh, do not feel like buying a stator for the old girl. Thinking a new polaris sportsman may be in order.

It could be a weak starter. And johnboy, why on earth would you want a polaris?
I want a new 4x4 and I want to pay less than 6000 bucks. The equivalent Yamaha is a couple thousand more. I bought the wife a Kodiak and since the day I bought it for her my warrior has been breaking down constantly.LOL Also, since riding her kodiak I am kind of liking having 4 wheel drive but that machine is just not powerful enough for me ( I am 6'2" and 280 pounds)

x2. Just get anything Jap. Steer away from polaris and can-am. You think you're having probs with your warrior, that's nothing compared to them. My dad used to weigh 270 and his honda 300 4x4 never had a prob carrying him around. Also, don't buy new, all mfgs want way too much for their machines. They probably loose $2000 of their value soon as you drive off the lot. Just search for a nice used bike.

Get a big bear, you will never have trouble and the torque is redixuless
I want something new. I would buy another Kodiak if I had the cash to buy it. It is the slow time for me at work ( spring break up here in Canada for oilfield guys). I have been pretty lucky with the warrior but this spring had been issue after issue with it.
The new polaris quads are an amazing deal new. The 400 is only 5500 bucks , 500 is just 400 more. Their resale here in Canada seems to hold quite well also. I have driven the 500 and it had loads of power with me on it, it was substantially quicker/faster than the warrior.
As for the comments about Can am, well that is what I would be putting in the garage if I could justify paying 10k plus. Don't get me wrong, I love the warrior and love playing around on a 2 wheel drive but I am getting too old to drive 2 wheel drive all the time. I am gonna pick up a polaris and then next year with the income tax refund I may just pick up a newer Raptor 700 to satisfy my 2 wheel drive needs.
