So if my battery is fully charged, my starter solenoid works, all the wiring going fromt he battery to the starter works, my starter cut off switch is good, and my lights turn on...whats the problem?

I think its my on/off and start switch. Idk why but my lights still turn on. But when i push my start button it doesnt do anything. The only other think i could think it would be would be the wires going from the start switch to the solenoid and i dont think those could get messed up inside the protective wrapping.

Theres one other thing i think it could be. When i took my killswitch off last time i never seperatly taped the wires off and i think there touching meaning it wont start. So ill check that.

Does anybody have any other ideas, Im going to a salvage yard tomarrow around 4 and i should be able to use anypart i could need for my wireing.
 
k well its not the kill switch wires, they were not touching and even when i pulled them apart furthur away it still didnt work. Theres something wrong with the start button.
 
Maybe the contacts are bad. Have you tried pulling/cutting the wires and touching them together manually? If it works then, you could just hook up your own start button, or buy a used one to replace it.

Also, I don't know how your killswitch works, but my guess would be that it breaks the circuit when it's triggered, it seems more logical than the way you said it. So try touching the 2 wire together first.
 
I had the same problem. and still have that problem but.
It was my kill switch. When the switch is closed or when the switch on, the engines starts.

But i wasn't starting so hmmm..

I took apart my kill switch witch has the start and lights on it. Pulled out the red lever for the switch and with some memory cloth, or like a fine sand paper i cleaned all the copper conntors. then i put it back together. if my quad doesn't start the next time i usally switch the kill swith a couple of times and it runs fine.
 
K i went there and hooked up another start button and nothing. So i just got another wiring harness thinking its in the harness somewhere. When i went up to the shop to buy it the guy asked if my cdi is still good. I said i think it should be becuase the lights work still so i took out the manual and looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like it could be the problem.

So what do you guys think, CDI?
 
could be.. I'd check to make sure you have the reverse lever wiring hooked up right and if you have power when hitting the starter button to the solenoid. If you don't have power to the solenoid then trace back that color wire.. I believe it's L/W or Y/B... to you CDI. Then make sure you have power to your CDI. That color wire is Br. If you have power to your CDI and nothing out and you find that your switch is good then it's a good chance.
 
A little scinario here...if your cdi goes out while your riding somehow and your riding it hard would it cause your engine to overrev and blow?
 
no not possible as you control the fuel to air mixture not the CDI.. The CDI is basically taking signal from the 2 pickup coils and then determining when to fire the plug. Usally when a CDI goes bad you will have a no spark issue.
It's still a fourstroke engine and no matter how many times you fire the plug on exhaust.. compression or any stroke it will not cause the engine to over rev. It may burn a little cleaner as MSD does that.. they tend to fire the plug up to 3 times after the first spark to help burn and clean up emissions.
 
K well if i would of known that the cdi controls the spark i coud of been threw this problem a long time ago.

The bikes not getting spark and they guy that i bought it from broke the cdi brackets off the frame from running into something. The cdi looks really messed up on the bottem too from when he broke it off.

It has to be the cdi im getting one.
