Okay, so its hutting season this weekend. I'm not going to be using the raptor for 3 months or so. What is the best way to store it?

Full tank of gas empty? Drain the carb? Leave oil in, let oil oit?

Those are the kinds of things im wanting or should i just fire it up every week and drive it around the house for a bit?

Thanks FRN

For best results I know you should empty the take or at least get most of the gas out and put sea foam or sta bil in the fuel and let it run for for a bit to let the treatment work into the carb so the fuel doesnt varnish. If you use treatment you shouldnt need to drain the carb.I would unhook the battery too if you dont plan to run it for 3 months. I'm also unsure of the oil being in there. But I cant see it causing to many problems for only 3 months. I do the fuel treatment for my snowmobile and I started it once a month to run some fuel through it but its been sitting for 6+ months and its a 2 stroke. So I guess if you want to play it really safe, treat the fuel and start it up once a month or so to make sure the fuel isnt varnishing on you. but you prolly wont have to.

I'll probably just drain the tank ( on RES now) and drain the carb. Unless some one has had a problem with that.

If you do store it and done ride it all winter, put a rag or something in the exhaust and the air intake so no mice go crawlin into your engine. It happend to my friends airbox over the winter last year.

Don't empty the gas and drain the carb, the rubber seals dry out, just empty the tank and add fresh gas with Stabil fuel stabilizer in it, then run the quad for a while so the gas gets into the carb. Also remove your battery and bring it inside. BTW I leave mine almost all winter and never had to do any of that, I'm only telling you to do this if it's long term storage.

You seem to be from my neck of the woods. Winter here is like 70. I left my warriors in my backyard for about a year, same gas same oil, and they started right up after some carb cleaner.

I hate you and your 70 degree winters! haha

Actually last year it dropped down to like the 50's, Holy hell I could do like 30 laps and not get tired in that kind of climate!
