Reminds me when I was in 1st grade, (Stone age), there was a huge push to teach the metric system. They said that the english system would be gone in 10 years and all countries would be using the metric system. Well, that 10 years came and went and here we are still using the same english system.

I wonder why the metric system has not picked up here? It makes a lot more sence since everything is based off of 10. Water freezes at 0 c instead of 32 F and sockets go from 1 on up instead of some weird fraction. ???
 
I remember that same push to teach everyone the system. I am anxious for my son to get to that stage in life and see if they are still teaching the kids that the imperial system will be gone in "10 years".
