looking to get new air filter. have oil filter now.any ideas would help

97 warrior
all stock right now

i would also like some input here im wanting to get a clamp on and i saw some on ebay with a plastic adapter, are they worth buying?

post the link. Never saw a plastic adapter yet. Cant go wrong with a K&N with a pre-charger. UNI is also a good choice, dosent breath as well but lasts a long time and keeps everything out.

I have a direct UNI with a cover and clamp for sale, you'd need to make a direct adapter, shouldn't be to hard. If you do make on, post up a thread, id be a great post. Help save people some money.

Here's how I bought my quad K&N filter with a piece of exhast pipe then a bracket welded to it for mounting. Works good, but wish I had the airbox bottom to keep the water off.

yes I know I need to recharge the filter lol

Yep on my blaster, i had a 2 stage UNI with a pre wrap on it, took a piece of black rubber pipe hose from the hardware store and clamped it onto the carb and onto the filter, make sure its long enough to reach back to were the air box was in the stock position, so the air coming into it has room to smooth out before hitting the carb....

I would give $25 to find the picture i had when i was done of it, but i cannot seem to find it, you would just have to hollow the hole a little bigger in your air box, so that the rubber hose will slide into it and youll be able to keep your air box too.....

im kinda wanting to try a k&n for a while. i do like the foam cause thieir easy to clean but ive never used a k&n

Uni or a Pro Designs pod filter! get a foam one, way easier to clean, if you ride in a lot of loose terrian, sand, dust, etc.., or if your going to a K&N filter, get an Outerwears cover for it! they dont like river crossings, and really muddy riding! with out a cover.

tanks for the info i,ll be back with more ? later:atv:

I just installed the Mod Quad K&N Kit with the aluminum clamp on adapter ... she def seems to be breathing a little easier with the K&N then it did with the UNI .. and loving the fact that i dont have to worry about that stupid ******* lid holding the filter down anymore!
