    new member, 87ish Warrior rider

Tenth vin character is H for 87, J for 88. Yours should be an 87 by the colors alone. You also have the 87-88 headlamps.

    going OLD SCHOOL!!

That's all there is to the mechanical timing. TDC, lobes down on cam, align cam gear's timing marks, install tensioner then install the spring and cap to push the plunger out against the chain's guide. What is wrong with your current carb???

    going OLD SCHOOL!!

No, you don't need a timing light. Pretty much, follow the manual. If it's a factory manual, get a Clymer manual. I could easily walk you through the timing procedure, however, I've done it so many times that I'm worn out from "teaching", lol. Also, even if I tell you how to do something, it...

    going OLD SCHOOL!!

Bent valve, hole in piston, cracked/broken rings, engine out of time, bad head gasket, head bolts not properly torqued to spec, broken valve spring.... Time to start going back over your work.

Are you sure that the woodruff key for the flywheel didn't get pushed out of it's groove when you installed the flywheel? Flywheel will spin on the crank if that happens.

What kind of cars does everyone drive?

EX has more top end and is a little lighter. Heads up, stock for stock, 300ft drag race... It'd be pretty even. The EX may take the win but it'd be tight. With mods, the Warrior. And, I say that because the Warrior is tuned way down and needs to breathe. If money isn't an issue the EX can...

What did you do to your quad today?

Little bit of cranking. I ran the carb dry at that time and the FCR is cold natured. Note: the 350x fired up on the first kick.

What did you do to your quad today?

Cranked it up for the first time in two months.
