Top end rebuild on a 99 warrior

X2! That's pretty much all I did to mine, and it worked out great. Open it up and inspect it first, it may need less than you think. Don't fix what ain't broke.

New DD/Toy- Updates as of 8/19/2012

I absolutely loved my silver/gray cloth '87 TC. The auto trans made it a little doggy, but still a superbly tasty all around ride. I'll buy another. I'm jealous .

    What is it with people

So, you're saying you won't sell it for a hundred then?? :) It's a craigslist thing I think. I just got offered $50 for a $150 train set I'm selling for $100 on there. And not even a polite, friendly "nice guy" offer either. Wiener. LOL

    carb wont stop leaking

Gotta describe "cleaned"... it must be operating room clean EVERYWHERE inside. I'm assuming it's dripping out of the overflow hose and not from the bowl gasket. If the needle is perfectly "clean" on the taper (and no "ring" grooved in where is sets on the seat) and the seat has no clinkers stuck...

    Jets??

And take the old jets with you. Easier to match them up and to be sure you got the right style for the carb.

have i ever told ya how much i LOVE mules?

I never worked on one. By Mule, are you talking about the owner, or the quad? :D Tis a shame folks don't give a damn about their own stuff like that. Ride hard, put away wet... then whine when it implodes.

have i ever told ya how much i LOVE mules?

Valves and pushrods bent from the stank gas sticking the valves in the guides.

    question

You need to have the valves removed from the head to do the seals. You'll need a valve spring compressor. I had to make an adapter for my compressor since the space where the springs are is so limited. They don't just fall out, they are a pain in the butt to do. I don't recommend the job for a...

    Slug issues.

No real need for an assortment yet. Just put one that you know is too small in (ie. stock) and see if it's still "rich". That is, if a compression check turns out ok first.

Only if they're worn. Can't tell till you get the springs out of the head.

    Slug issues.

Sure. Make sure the muffler core isn't crushed somehow. How about the float height? Go back to stock main (obviously lean) while you're there just for the record. If it's running rich then, you know there's something else wrong. Also, was there a chance someone drilled the marked 150 jet out...

    Little bit disappointed in myself:(

Kinda what I was thinking. I was waiting for the punch line. If you're talking about the drill hole into the sleeve, then you''ve created a cool paperweight. Sleeve time. I don't think any welding will work on an iron liner pressed into aluminum like that (heat sink, different metal properties...

    talking tires

Dunno for sure. Got 'em like 2-1/2 years ago or so on a closeout online. Shoulda bought several sets, they were so ridiculously cheap.
