well its hard to tell without being there but its likely that the bearing grips one way on the bench but it doesnt grip hard enough to actually turn the motor over. i mean there could also be a other things. you could have a crank bearing totally froze up, or a connecting rod bearing froze...

yeah that's the problem... make sure you dont skimp and you get the gear too... i have skimped before, but my clutches always grabbed enough to still start... yours sound totally junk

oh ok then your one way bearing must be totally shot. replace it and the big gear. i have never actually heard of one that wont at least grab a little bit...

does the flywheel turn? if not you must have a sheared flywheel key. at this point i would keep my fingers crossed that it didn't mark up the crank too bad from spinning the flywheel on the crank

caltric are ********, i believe that is the one that i fought and fought only to realize the plug had 2 of the wires in the wrong spot. flipped the wires and it ran, for a while. I wont buy anything from them again

did you end up with the raptoroneway? i think i have one in my future but for this weekend im going to have to see if one of my many in that parts boxes is any better

nah i would say it is supposed to spray right into the carb. i would say someone tinkered with it. you should be able to put a flat head on it and turn it

from my experience clear coat actually cuts down on the shine of bare metal. might be interesting tho... dont forget the bottoms are almost surely going to get worn off no matter what you spray them with...

i would say your answer lies in whether or not you want to rebuild your motor. personally if i was going through the hassle of taking the left side case off, i would be rebuilding the top end too. you'll have probably $300 into doing all of that.

i reused my allen bolts when i did it, which was probably 6 years ago. the bolts are "peened" in and very very hard to get out... hence people have problem
