I started it up for a minute. Started right up as usual but if I touch the throttle it just bogs out. Took the plug out and it was black as night. I replaced it but no change. Rode less than 2 weeks ago and it was fine. Don't know what to do from here. Help please!

It could possible be that your carbuerater fuel mixture is too rich. When it's just bogging out it's probably because of a cold engine.(mine does that as well sometimes)

Sounds like a rich running condition. Did you change anything on the bike recently that would cause this?

I think the main jet may be plugged. I've only owned it for a couple months. The bike was only ridden 5 times since new (according to the previous owner). And last time I rode was pretty hard riding. Maybe broke some junk loose in the carb. Gonna tear it down tommorrow and find out.

yeah... don't beleive that unless you know him personally.

I was told mine only had 20 hours on it, but once I had it for a while, I found it was apparently thrashed on for those 20 hours.

OK, tore down and cleaned the carb. No change. I realized that "bogging out" wasn't accurate. What it does is idle perfect, then if I apply throttle it will bog a little then spit and pop and stall if I don't let off. Its totally unrideable. So now I'm thinkin more like a bad coil or plug wire. I read 15.3K ohms from the plug boot to ground side of the coil. I have no idea if this means anything but it seems really high to me. I'm totally baffled :-/

ITS ALIVE!!!!!!! So, yeah... I'm a bit of a *******. FYI if you remove your parking brake, you must discounect the switch that goes to the lever. Thats all it was.

It was yer safety!!! There's a wire that connects to your clutch lever and it was probably just loose. Mine used to have that problem as well but then I got help from Yamaha!
