what is the difference between a 1987 flywheel and a 2000 flywheel? Per all the pictures I have researched they look the same.

Is it the pickup coil tab placement? Thank you

Trying to upgrade the wiring on a 1987 warrior to 2000 wiring and trying not to spend a lot of extra cash on an old machine.

Yeah I think your assumption is correct. I did mine from 2002 to a 1996-01 setup just because I had most of what I needed available. Match the flywheel, stator, harness, cdi, on/off switch, and I think certian years the rectifier.

Pick up and sometimes polarity. They're all stamped with a different 2 digit number to help distinguish them.
