05 Raptor top speed by Radar.

I finally unpacked the box that had my radar gun in it from moving and clocked my new 05 350 Raptor. It is completely stock still and has about 20 hours on it and it is due for its first valve adjustment.

It radared at 61 MPH. It did not sound like it was wrapping out all the way in 6th gear so I think with some mods I can get a few more MPH out of it. It will be interesting to see how much each mod will bump up the top speed or if the gearing is going to top out close to that.

Before I start moding it I will get stock speed at set distances to see if acceleration is increased with each mod and by how much.

Just an FYI since this seems to be a common question and speed is often just a guess.

I clocked it on rough pavement, (lots of patches). There was a slight crest in the road, but the speed was the same running it both ways. My tire pressure was pretty low from riding in sand. I have not tried airing them up to see if this makes any difference or not.
