We just bought an 01 wolverine two days ago. We bought it off and individual and he told us it was sitting for about 2 months but who knows how long it actually sat. Anyway saturday and sunday we rode most of the day. Just moderate riding. Sat we were out on some country roads and mostly flat areas and she ran great. Only issue we saw was that it was leaking brake fluid. We put a new clamp on the hose, problem solved. Anyway Sunday we were riding a little harder but nothing serious. A fairly flat aread, there were small "hills" on this track we were going around. Well the boys started to jump these hills the best they could. It wasnt anything high the tires never came more than 6-12in off the ground. Well after about an hour one of them landed and it sputtered for a second and then cleared out. This went on for about 2 hours. We figured some stuff had gotten into the carbs since it sat and that if it kept clearing itself it was fine. Well it got to wear almost anytime we hit the gas it sputtered, didnt die but sounded almost like a misfire (im pretty sure it wasnt). So we took it home and pulled the carb off. We were unable to get to the float with out stripping the screws. So we just blew some air through it and a little bit of junk came out. Ran great. Then our friend did a wheelie and when he came down started sputtering again. Oh we also took our the air filter and it was pretty dirty but looked to me like stuff was getting through. We plan on changing the spark plug, the air filter, changing the oil and putting some sort of engine cleaner through the gas. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there and easier way than taking off the carb again? What are suggestions to fix this? I am sure it is from it sitting. We would like some suggestions that are cheap and easy to start with. All help appriciated.
