hi,
i have a yfm350 1989 moto 4 4x2
there is play in the upper steering stem/column bearing or bushing if you will.
see images its a 1 piece, i have been buying alot of the parts from aliexpress but i can only find the 2 piece version.
my question is would it fit and work? is there a upgraded type?
i wouldn't have thought the big bear and moto 4 would be different for this.

The bolt holes on the 2 piece are further inward. And the steering stem is a different size. Since I have a bunch of part out yfm80 quads(original part number matches), I took a look and measured them. If your shaft measures 22mm in diameter, this will be correct.

Yours is 22mm shaft, 65mm bolt hole width
Split is for 32mm shaft, 55mm bolt hole width

Ebay search shows a bunch of used ones. Might get lucky and find one in your country. If its from a kids quad, its likely to be good as they are very small, light, and don't see much stress on this. Then there is this one that is new bushings https://www.ebay.com/itm/3262762997...=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Or, if you want to pay for shipping from the US, I have plenty of them off a YFM80. Send me a PM if you don't have any luck.

Thanks heaps for taking the time to measure them, I’ve measured mine and I come up with the shaft as 22.3mm and the bolts are about 66mm apart. Hard to measure exactly. I work in a hydraulics place and think maybe a stauff clamp may fit I will check tomorrow when at work and update this thread.

What’s people’s thoughts on using a cars swaybar/roll bars mounting bush they are a D bush could get it in rubber or polyurethane.

I had a similar thought when I saw the first picture, im sure you could make it work

I will say my measurements were rough with a cheap digital caliper(not 100% machinist measurement). It was mostly to give a reference of the size difference. A sway bar bushing could be used. It is likely the hardest material you will find is a polyurethane bushing(I think 80-95 shore is common) which is not nearly as rigid as whatever plastic compound these are made from. Could work out fine, as its not a very heavy machine.
