work and ride on just about everything. Got a 1987 warrior with no spark and it is getting the best of me.
I ride as much as I can on a 2023 700r se raptor with a small group up in Northeast Ohio. We travel all over to ride.

Looking forward to the warrior build if I don’t start drinking first from frustration.

I'm in Mogadore Ohio. Just sold my 2019 700 to stick with the warriors for now. 87's are difficult because the first gen was only a 2.5 year run and the 87 itself has a lot of 1 year only parts. At this point on them a lot of the stuff is just old. Best option is to upgrade to a newer harness and electrical.

Beastly, I have built a lot of Yamahas and by far this warrior is the most frustrating. I love my 700 as it is the first brand new quad I have owned. Everything else I have owned has been used and rebuilt. Multiple blasters, banshee, 2-3 450’s.

Do you have a year suggestion to upgrade to? Does the flywheel have to be changed due to the pickup marks?

Thank you

Yeah usually have to upgrade the flywheel. 97-01 or 02-04 are usually best to upgrade to. @tom bauer is great with electrical and makes cdi's.

What are your symptoms and what have you checked?

I’m in another thread and I think Tom is responding to me. He thinks I might have the wrong schematics.

The machine was running and just shut off. No spark since. I have checked everything according to the manual. Everything checks out but no spark. Very frustrating but eventually it will run again.

Pick up coils- checked
Stator checked
Ignition coil checked and changed with one from Ricky stator
Changed plug
Neutral switch checked
Clutch switch checked

Wiring harness is a concern as there are a lot of splices. Trying to go through it according the manual I have but it might be wrong according to Tom. Waiting on his reply.

The wiring harness may be the issue. It is over 30 years old. Easy things to check are the keyed switch, the flip switch, and the starter/power relay. I had many relays fail on my '87. The cheap replacements are hit-or-miss. The starter/power relay was my biggest issue before I found other harness issues which likely caused it.
