2005 Raptor 350, oil in left (Stator) side of case?

Good morning everyone.
I have developed a little electrical problem ( no spark ) and thought that I would take a look at the stator last night.
When I removed the left side outer cover where the stator should be oil came pouring out. Does this motor run a wet stator or have I developed a bigger problem like a crank seal leak?
I don't have much experience with this motor but lots with various mx bike motors. Every mx bike that I have every had or worked on has always had a dry stator.

Its a wet stator. Behind the flywheel is a small valley for the oil to seep back into in the case.
