Well my buddy just stopped by and saw im in a rebuild, he offered me his 450R front shocks because he just put new ones on his (2004 i think) does anybody know or tryed this to see if they'll work with stock mounts?

They are too long for stock mounts, buttttt they make a braket where you can use them safely. Alot of people on here will tell you to stay away from them.

Edit: they will fit on stock mounts yet put alot of stress on front end components causing premature wear and or failure.

There freebies....I think, read to fast, so what is it? they'll fit stock anddddddd they make a bracket or they just fit?

THey fit stock, but you need the bracket for them to fit PROPERLY, and if they are free i think they would be worth getting the bracket for.

my shocks (prob worn) measure 14 3/8----450r shocks measure 16 3/8.......whatever......where do i find those brackets? ill b honest ...havent even looked...been sandblasting n painting all day.....lookin good thou! how much? the dude giving them to me is gettin ****** up in NYC at moment (just sent me a pic) i should go gettem now lmao......NOT

hmmmm cant quite figure out how they work from pic if they are right, but in any case looks like something i'd order, take measurements and fab myself at $90 and return:atv:

This might give you an idea of how they go on. Im curious if anyone has fabbed up a bracket for them.

ok so brackets grab both shocks, makes more sense now, still even with my limited tooling(got drill press) i think i could make them. its just a stamping

Ok i've all but comandeered these 450r shocks, im thinking about seein how they fit w/o bracket and checkin the ride out, will that work? or will the ride completely change if i was to install bracket? (he replaced them with $1200 worth of elkas)

if they are anything like the 660 raptor shocks I have they push the a arms and ball joints all the way extended so not a good idea man don't want to break her after all that hard work

well......if i got the numbers correct, they are 2inches longer than my stockers. ill check them tomorrow again

I got them!!!!

OK i now has posession of shocks:tup: I beat the **** outta myself again today, really wanting to try these, they are long thou. Should i try them direct mounted?????????????
