87 to 96 wire harness swap

i was wondering if any one has changed the harness from an 87 to a newer one i know the stator is different but is the flywheel the same and do you need to change the stator housing due to ony having one pickup and is there any thing else i might run in to while doing this this swap thanks

You can use the same housing but you need to change the flywheel also. If you`re upgrading try to get a 97-01 harness and electronics. If you get a 96 that`s the only year CDI you can use and it`s getting tougher to find them but there`s a ton of 97-01 CDI`s out there.
