My starter motor works and everything it just won't turn the flywheel. I'm thinking one of the gears are shredded plus it is very difficult to turn flywheel i have to use a wrench to turn it. Any thoughts would be nice! thanks!

pull the spark plug out and see if it is easier to turn over if not then most likely the crank and/or rod bearings are seized possibly
you could also tip the quad up on the left side and pull the stator cover case off and be able to see what the starter gear is doing and inspect the flywheel(you more than likely will need a new stator cover gasket)
(I usually set the left front and rear wheel on kitchen chairs and that is usually enough so the oil won't drain out when you pull the stator /cover off)

Have you drained the oil? Were there any metal shavings? I had a similar issue and it ended up being my stator. The starter would spin and the gears inside would spin but the motor wouldn't turn over. Who ever put it in before I bought the quad put the stator in with the wires loose. When I pulled it out all the wires were stripped and some were cut. Pull the stator cover; just like yamahauler said. Try and turn the starter clutch(the big gear behind the flywheel) by hand. Also, check to make sure the other gears are intact. As far as a stator gasket, I've used RTV and it worked just fine. I have also used the paper kind, and they're cheap enough. I used RTV because it was a Saturday night and I wanted to go ride Sunday morning.

rtv works fine as long as you let it set up long enough and have a clean application surface, mine is held together by it lol

Very high possibility your starter one-way bearing is seized to the flywheel, and when you try to turn the crank by hand you are also turning the starter motor over as well. Lots of resistance there. I had that issue once. If you hear a weird whirring noise when you turn it over by hand that is your problem.
