Hey folks,

So I inherited a very nice original Yamama Warrior and finally got it running last night after a carb rebuild, new ignition switch, new spark module, new stator and pick-up coils. Weirdest thing is that when the ATV is turned off then the bike sparks. However, when the ignition is ON and everything else is working (lights, e-start, etc) then the ignition appears to be grounded.

I'm not sure what could be wrong. The only wires running from the stator & pick-ups that I could have wired incorrectly were two color coded leads. I did go ahead and try to switch them to no effect. All other wires are 4-way or 3-way special plug adapters.

There is no telling what the previous owner might have done. Could be my fault, too, but I won't accept responsibility.....LOL.

Any thoughts?

Anyone else? I've checked the grounds as best as possible. Everything appears good there.

An I thought of something, take your key cylinder ignition thing and cut off the small wires and twist them together. Should get spark no matter what if the quad is on or off as long as the cut off switch is at the ON position.
