so far i have put a new starter in, cleaned a severly gummed up carb and put it back together. this thing has been beat to hell and back, but i am slowly trying to make something out of it for my stepdad. still not finished with it. needs a pull start assembly, brake work, and to figure out why the lights don't work. also, gear case has an oil leak above the sprocket. has that auto chain oiler lmao

yeah, i don't think i will. some of the bolts for the cover were broken off in the case. i think some good sealant will do the trick.

Good cuz if that thing gets water in it you just killed the stator and starter thats the down fall of the old Polaris machines

Thats one like my buddy has, we went riding and the carrier wouldn't stay tight, chain jumped off the front sprocket and got in between the front sprocket and the case. It broke a couple teeth off the front sprocket too. Son of a gun runs good though.

Chain drive 4x4? My dad had an 01 scrammy 500 4x4 with the chain drive 4x4. What a total piece of **** design.

yeah, it's chain driven. 3 of them to be exact. terrible design that i have heard nothing, but bad things about.
