Thanks guys!! If it doesn't sell I have a source to get it zinc coated and may have that done and keep it as a spare.

Got the bottom a-arms yesterday, Great shape, couldn't be happier with them. Thanks a lot man!
I figured you would like them. They are pretty tight. Turns out that they are 2002. I just took the guys word for it that the machine was a 1996 and never looked at the VIN. Went to sell the stator and one of the guys here said it looked like 02 or newer plugs. Looked at the VIN and sure enough it is a 2002. Oh well!!

what do you use to clean up the axle like that?

After I welded and re-cut the threads, I hot tanked and glass bead blasted it. It is like sand blasting only much finer sand so it leaves a smoother finish. I do the same to all my parts before I take them to the powder coater.

and if I don't have glass bead blasting available? anything else work?like a little elbow grease with something?lol don't want to scratch the **** out of them but just want to get rid of the rust spots

I don't know anything that would replicate that cleaning process. Other than hand sanding and using a scotch brite pad, there probably aren't many options.

Glass beading is nice when doing port work. Makes it smooth as a baby's bottom. Another way to clean something is a scotchbrite pad and marvel. I cleaned a well rusted big bear cyclinder that way. Just filled up a gallon bucket of marvel and soaked that bad boy. Then scrubbed with the scotchbrite, soaked some more, scrubbed, soaked, and so on. Looked like new when I was done. Even gave it a crosshatch from all the scrubbing I did, lol.

Still some parts available:

Both upper a-arms
Front shocks
Both front spindle/hubs with brake rotors
Gas tank
Frame (local pick up only)
Axle
Steering stem (repaired and straight now)
Cylinder jug roughed to .020 over
Seat
Foot peg steel heel plates

Not that it matters, but it turns out these parts are all 2002.
