well considering how long it takes the stocker to wear out i think i could go either way... a personal choice

u can get stockers for $2 on ebay

"worth the money" i guess that depends on how much extra you got , for some people 42 bucks is alot ...

but yea id buy one , just for the fact of havin it , its a pretty cool idea , and one less thing to replace ...

i like it i say go for it

$42 for a mount is a bit much, Hell $42 is 8 footlong subs! hahahah. I've been debating. Either way I get my taxes back and if my truck isn't too much to fix, I'm gettin Douglas beadlocks all around, IMS pegs/heel-guard combo, new x-ring chain and possibly this.

(2000warrior, check you email ;))

Eh, i don't think it's worth it. If you take them apart and grease them every couple years the stock ones will never wear out, even without grease they still take 4 or 5 years to get any play in them. It would take a long time for that mod to pay off.

If you are going to get some beadlock wheels get some of the ones that are made by hyper. They look sweet! I'm not sure but I think that is who makes the wheels that I'm talking about.

though about the hiper but have also seen an heard many hiper horror stories. That being said, If I was strictly racing my quad I'd buy the hipers, but I'm also trial ridin this beast and trail riding in Wellsville which is some harry **** so Id feel a little better on the steel. Crack a hiper its toast, bend a Douglas and you can get it back into shape.

I'm still up in the air about it, Hipers are light as hell and bad ass lookin. I get caught up on there weak mounting points though.

Here's the Hipers: http://hiperracingwheels.com/detail.aspx?ID=9 I can get a used set for $500 give or take.

Here's the DWT's: http://www.dwtracing.com/products/atv/alumilite/G2 New set for $400 give or take

Like what "horror stories" have you heard about the hipers? What happened?

Hipers ****ARE NOT*** light as hell. They weigh every pound of a standard aluminum beadlock. The wheel itself is pretty light but the special hubs they use weigh a ton. Definitely not worth the money to me unless you have a sponsor forking over the dough for them. Burgard makes some beadlocks for half of what most other companies do, I can't say a whole lot about the quality from personal experience but the local shop tells me that they're as good as any other beadlock. They also told me the same about Burgard's A-arms and I got bent over and raped on that deal, pieces of ****.

hipers are now a dual bolt pattern and they do not have that heavy ass hub like they used to.... what i like about hipers are that they dont hold water like regular beadlocks and the are broke or not,,,,, they dont bend like aluminum.... i would say they are about a pound lighter is all though

Back to the original post, I just finished installing a zerk fitting on the stock steering stem mount I'll post pics on saturday lol

Well i got the pics of it and i might need to put some groves in it or something to distribute the grease more evenly through it.

I don't think that you would need to do anything to get the grease throught it evenly. As small of an area as that is, less than half a pump of grease will be more than enough for about a year. Just riding it should naturally work the grease through it evenly.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as the fitting isn't sticking out too far and hitting the steering stem. The pic is prety blurry so it's hard to tell how much clearance there is.

I know what your sayin and i checked it and the fitting is not sticking out so far that it will hit the steering stem so im thinking it will work out pretty well

Just take it easy when you grease it, I think if you put a full pump in there it'll be too much, possibly blow those seals out of it or just make a mess.
