daddy was wondering who doesnt run a air box and is it possible for us to run without one without getting water on it, (we run through water over the tires) sometime deeper (over bumper)

No keep your box haha, it will be soaked in no time, mine gets soaked from puddles with front fenders and the whole box without a lid, hence why i got a pre filter.

there is no way to get rid of it and have it out of water?

Think about what you just said...If you got rid of it then there is nothing there to protect it..

The reason I got thinking about it is the airbox just looks like ass.

The bike would look so much cleaner without it and just the filter there.

So here is a thoguht and a question (or vice versa):
How 'waterproof' are the Outerwears?

Cuz if they are really waterproof, you can put one over your filter and sandwich it between the filter body and the clamp.

I don't know, just throwin stuff out there....

Do you got an outerwears cover? If so take it off the filter and fill it up with water. It shouldn't leak any water out of it.

If you take it out of the air box and go through water that is sometimes over the bumper that means that part of the filter will be under water. With a little bit of suction it might pull water through it.

i dont have mine on. i left the front part of the lid, and cut the rest off. mine stays pritty dry. little mud on top but nothing other wise. i dont aim for big ass pudles or anything though.

I don't aim for them either. But sometimes slowing down isn't an option!!! ;D ;D

Do you got an outerwears cover? If so take it off the filter and test to see how it handles the water. I sprayed mine with a garden hose and water easily got into my outerwears..

I gots no Outerwears now. Gots a Prodesign.

But I didn't think about suction.

Hmmm....damnit!

What about making one out of lexan, or something similar. It would then be clear, or tinted any color lexan you buy to go with your color scheme of the quad. You can make it any size or shape you desire also, you would just have to bite the bullet while making it if you design it too difficult. hell, make it as shallow as you could and clear, that would hide most of it.

And it would also make it easier to check to see how dirty your filter is, since you could just look through the side of the air box. Hell I might make one now, lol. ;D ;)

Buy the aluminum air box. It is pretty cool looking. A little pricey but what the hell.
