Well, my cousin & I are working out another deal on some more quads. A guy he has run into has another Blaster which we've become VERY familiar with, some Tri-Z parts (still searching for the engine) & a Kawasaki Mojave. For some reason I'm interested in the Mojave. It's a project but I'm interested to see how it works & if I can get any performance out of it. Greg @ CWR really likes these things & offers a bunch of stuff for em so he'll be my go to guy if we do this deal.

Mojave's are tuff as hell! My 2 uncles have them and in all honesty they shouldn't be running still. Niether has ever been rubuilt. Both have been flipped, crashed, bashed, drowned, rolled, you name it. Just a great bike. Fun to ride, too. Worst thing though, that retarted induction system. Ditch that and go with a clamp-on and do a rejet. I've never built one, but good power can defenetly be gotten from it, it wants more.

mojave's are tuff and fun BUT they have a bad problem... the heads are designed poorly and dont oil the cams properly... long story short is all mojave's at some point have major head/cam problems

klr 250's seem to not have to problem and from what i seen when i had my mojave the heads may interchange... look into that. i also had a oil line system drawn on CAD if i can find it

YUPP! Exactly what happen to my brothers Mojave. Fun little quad. Aftermarket parts are almost non-existant and the wheel base is extremely small, but still a very fun quad and the DOHC was ahead of its time.

Pic of it, we parted once the cam, cam seats and lobes got torn up, some guy bought it all.

It's funny you guys have had probs with the valve train. Any mojave I've seen has not had an issue. And if there are 2 that should it would be both of my uncles bikes. They've ridden those bikes into the ground. 1 uncle rode his low on oil, the other with a bad water pump. Don't ask me how the engines didn't blow up or sieze. Maybe it was an certain year range? Both the bikes mentioned above are 93's. And wg09 you're right, the klr is the same engine if memory serves. Still, an awesome little bike. Matter of fact, when you most any mod the company you're getting your perf parts from will tell you to use a klr cdi.

I looked into one of these lil machines back before I got the Warrior, I found that Greg has a ton of Aftermarket stuff for it, including extended swinger, axles, wider front control arms, wheel spacers & quite the selection of performance engine upgrades. If it had no following at all I wouldn't be interested, believe me, lol!

They really are a great little quad. Got some snott for a 250! But back when that was built it was, like the warrior, all about high performance small cc 4 strokes. Now a days the 250ex and z250 are what they consider sport 250s! CWR has some really neat stuff for some really odd bikes. And not badly priced either. I'm probably going to do the 400cc big bore on my spare warrior engine.

I hear that. The old crank in my spare enigne is shot. So by the time it's all said and done it'll be cheaper to go with the hot rods set up over the cwr kit. But, I do like a big bore short stroke combo over the stroker. 85mm would be nice. Especially when it comes time to do a top end and all you need is a bore & hone and not have to get a stock cylinder.
