So our son has out grown his Raptor 80, his father gave up his 98 Warrior for our son. Now we need another quad, so here is the question. We mainly just trail ride and dont go very fast. Do you think a Raptor 660 is a waste of money for trail riding? Does anyone here ride a 660 on trails?

Thanks for the space

 i'm not the only warrior girl here now :'(

but to answer the question... IMHO a raptor 660 is just a waste of money. but if you do go for one get a '03 (?) i think it is or newer ('02 and older had bad tranny probs)

It's nice to meet another girl. Yeah, I think its a waste of money, but my husband really wants one. I just have convince my husband that its not for our style of riding.

I found a real nice Warrior down here in NC. I think that would be a great idea 3 Warriors.

My boyfriend had an 01 raptor and he put over a little over 4000 in just the motor but he loved the bike and we manily trail ride is a lot better then a warrior but get an 03 or above unless the problems are fix mainly the tranny and one way clutch

i couldn't remeber if they fixed it in '02 or '03. i still dont like any of em... one of yamaha's screw ups. to top heavy for trail riding IMO. My favorite all around sport quad is the rappy 350.

I have heard the 660's aren't good for trails, the front end is too light and the are top heavy. It may be best to go with a 450, 400ex, or the Suzuki 400. I am a member on a atv forum, and thats what they told me about the 660 and trails cause I have been wanting one too. Plus they are are scary fast.

He got the 2010 yfz bill edition now he's not mad about gettin rid of it for my warrior

i agree with dirtrider.. my buddy had a660.. great on power.. but sucked in trails.. just too light in front makes hill climbs scary and the topheavy makes hill decents scary... great track bike thou...

i dont pretend to know much about the sport quads out there..............but if you want to be different/original,than support the warrior!!! you can do so many different things to personalize your warrior350-426-446-yz490-etc... just so many personal touches to make yours one of a kind!!! DO ANOTHER WARRIOR350!!! just my oppinion, and ive spent well over 7000.bucks on all the ones ive owned, and no two were the same! KEEP WARRIORS ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

Damn thats a hard question.
I love my warrior probably the toughest rig I have ever owned. But if you really
think about it the 660s are water cooled with fan, a whole hell of alot more powerfull (stock).
Damn if it being too light in the front end is your deal killer just make it heavier in the front, maybe some type of weights, Ive seen it done on hill climbers.
How can something be a good track bike but be too top heavy on the trails.
I do think you can get over the taller stance once you take it down a gravel road wide open for the first time or race your buddy on his yfz and keep up (stock to stock).
But the only thing that holds me up on the 660s is that dual carb ****. Get a grizzly intake manifold and run a single Fcr then it would be worth havin. In the end the warrior will still be goin just because they are hard to kill and tough as hell. Overall in my opinion a warrior is more user freindly, Maintence especially less to break. After all why not have both.
