Anyone ever run a Web .390 on stock springs?

Well I just looked up the fiche for the 07 rapter, and here is what yamaha did. We all know that the warriors have the inner bearing inner race as part of the cam. It cannot be bought seperately, it is part of the cam. In 04-06 rapts, that inner race is seperate front the cam, and is a "force fit" using an o-ring and c-clip to keep it from sliding off the end of the cam. The inner bearing is the same as the warriors, only the outter was changed. In 07, yamaha ditched the inner bearing in favor of a larger bearing with it's own inner race like the outter bearing has. Thus eliminating the inner race on the cam itself. Fyi, they did keep the o-ring on the end of the cam.

Dean had web custom make the .413" cam for a warrior.

Hot Cam's when first released there cams said that the raptors and warrior 350's cam were the same. On the forums seen a lot of cam pins and end of the cam shear off from differing bearings between the two. Later Hot Cam changed cams.

Simple, warrior and raptor cams are different. 1UY-12170-00-00 is the part number for the stock warrior cam and if you do a were used search you will find that all years, raptor 350's used a different cam. Engine builders have said it was to improve on emissions.

Some of you guys really make this more difficult then it really is.

I know the rapt cam is different from the warrior's in it's overall design, but it's profile is the same until 07 when the changed the grind slightly for better midrange. Would I try to run a rapt cam in a warrior head? Prob not. But the whole rapt head on a warrior bottom end ( I know same bottom end)? Yes, and have done it. But, that's really apples and oranges. Just have to use the stock warrior cam gear when using the rapter/bruin/kodiac/whatever yamaha calls their utilities these days, head.

Obviously the 07 and newer rapt cams prob wont work because of the different inner bearing. But the 04-06 cams might, only because the inner bearings on them are the same as the warrior's. So you know the inner bearing race on the rapt cam would work, the real question is if the outer cam from the rapt would work in the head (prob would cause the heads are same for those years) or do you need to run the warrior bearing? But, why even bother with the swap when the profiles are the same, unless you stumble across a used perf rapt cam and want to give it a go.

x2!! id like you tell us why the 05-06 wont work cuz 1)the bearings for both have the same part numbers

2) hot cams says this cam fits all warriors and 05-06 raptors

and thats what the cam in question is

On 05-06 raptors-
1. The outer bearing is not the same nor is the cam gear and camshaft. Cylinder head ass. are different between the years from raptor to warrior.

2. Hot cam also has said that they made a +7mm stroker crank (that I bought but was actually a +4) for warriors among countless other **** they fucked up. Who you going to trust webcam or hot cams.

In the end I hope it works out for you. I would go with a stage 1 hotcam over the stage 2. It's close to a web .390 with more lobe seperation but with less ramp angle.

ok .. i run the s1 .... 00 was looking for a cheap cam and i came crossed this one http://www.ebay.ca/itm/YAMAHA-YFM35...f8826c1&clk_rvr_id=335478297630#ht_4738wt_698... trust me i know all about hotcams/rods and there b.s. i was just woundering why it wouldnt work ..... now do you think hotcams made this s2 cam to warrior or raptor specs .... id be will the bet warrior specs as the race is part of the cam un like the raptors cam

The physical heads themselves are the same, as are the valves and springs, the only thing they did was change the outer bearing in the early rapts, and they have these wierd "clips" that snap around the rockers. Other than that the head castings are the same. They MAY have changed the front bearing bore but without a warrior bearing and rapt head infront of me I have no way of knowing/testing. The 07 heads are cast different because they put a physically larger inner bearing in, so that bearing bore is larger.

the only difference between the cams is the bearings and the searfice on the cams were the inner bearing rides. according to part numbers the y will interchange 89-05 i havent checked the part numbers on the newer cam bearings. everyone says they wont work but who on here has even tried it?!?!? no one i bet.

Well, the inner bearing on the 04-06 rapters are the same as the warrior, found that lastnight on yamaha. The 07 and newer rapts have a larger bearing that wont work in a warrior head. They changed the outter bearing on the rapts, that may or may not fit in the warrior head, haven't tried it, or measured the width and diameter of the bearing compared to the bore in the head. The hotcams instructions state that for the 04-06 rapts you have to flip the cam sprocket over and install it. Because the offset of the sprocket is greater on the rapter, the alignment of the timing chain will not be correct unless flipped. Yamaha prob shortend the length of the cam and thus needed a sprocket with a greater offset. They also say that you can use the sprocket from a warrior to accomplish the same thing, and they give you the yamaha part number. Basically the hotcams is more of a universal unit for the warrior and rapters, where as all other mfgs make their cams vehicle specific.
