Anyone live close by Barron,WI?

been trying to figure out this knocking in my 02 warrior motor took it to the shop to get the exhaust stud fixed and asked them what they thought it was cause I've been riding it this way for over 4 months and they think it's the cam chain but it sounds and feels like it's coming from the crank case they said if it was the rod bearing it would have blown by now.I wish I could find someone close to check it out and give me there 2 cents on what it could be cause the shop want's $200 just to replace the cam chain(which I don't think is the prob) the knocking is very annoying when trail riding. it fires right up every time has great compression the top end was rebuilt by a shop from the previous owner a month before I bought it. It smokes a little on start up but once warmed up it's fine the shop that rebuilt the top end said the knock was something to do with the clutch and told the guy not to worry about it cause it would cost more to fix than it was worth and they have seen warriors doing this many times and they never have any probs. If someone that is knowledgeable about what this could be and how to fix and lives close by Barron,WI or Rice Lake,WI area please help

jasonp is probably the closest to you. Hes in New Richmond, Wi if memory serves me right. If I was just a little bit closer Id give ya a hand.

Just some more info This will be the 3rd weekend of trail riding for me the wheeler has not had any problems with power or anything runs strong just has the annoying knock oil is clean doesn't seem to have any metal shavings in it and by no means am I easy on it but I do limit how high I rev it just in case

changed the oil tonight and one side of the oil filter was covered with fine metal shavings and about 5 little pieces of thin gasket starting to think the knocking in the motor could be a little more serious than I thought but it still runs strong as hell and hasn't blown yet Any Thoughts on what it could be!!! Anyone...

Rod or crank bearing, those shavings will eventually destory the oil pump

I'd love to help you out man but I got about 10 projects going right now. The other thing I am worried about is the fact I would have to drive 2 1/2 hours round trip to get to where you are.. on top of that sounds like you are hurting for money.

My buddy is going to borrow me the money to rebuild it next month I just need an estimate on how much it's gonna be
And I would be willing to bring it to you otherwise I have a guy in Ladysmith that will do it for $25/hour + parts cost
