Going to rebuilt my engine on the next summer, with hcomp piston, hcstage1, vitos key, cam chain) and new stator( last two items ive already have).
But After reading many posts here in the forum ive came to realize that head porting is a must on this engine it will benefit every other mod made on the engine.
But since i live in portugal and dont know any company that have the experience on single cyl engine, i m tempted to do some mild porting/cleaning myself.
Any tips or recomendations besides not touching the valve seals?
If i do only some cleaning and smoth out some rough edges should i be able to see some gains?
600 grit on intake port is ok or more finer grain?
mirror polish on exhauts?

thanks

If your doing it I would only suggest gasket matching and remove any slag. You do NOT polish intake runners only chambers. If you polish the runner you will screw up the head.

what do you mean by runners? the "tube" from the gasket side to the chamber?

The runner is from where the intake mounts to the valve. The runners have to have a rough surface so the fuel stays atomized.
