ok so i was getting aluminum flake in my oil filter and a weird noise at high rpm my clutch was realy starting to slip so i replaced it today i rode for about an hour and the noise got worse. this thing has ran awsome and when the noise got worse it started having a hesitation while going through the gears like ( bah,b,bah, bah, bah so i feel that it is the rod bearing and it is afecting the stroke of the piston causing the bah,b,bah, bah and also the idle got lower and lower just my diagnosis, help or thoughts would be appeciated befor i tear it down :argh:

that is exactly what mine was doing and then it lost all power and locked up when I tore it down the metal flakes in the oil was the left thrust washer was completely shredded which caused the connecting rod bearing to go and seize on the crank I can take a pic if you want to see what I'm talking about?

what do you guys recomend i can do the work my self but i know the rod pin must be pressed out and back in but after looking into it it might be worth getting a whole crank and rod ass. by the time a but the rod and pay for labor for someone to press in and out it would be close to the same price , ( i belive)

I am in the process of having the atv shop here rebuild my crank for like $130 and then gonna do all new seals, bearings and connecting rod and piston and go .040 over on the piston and cylinder so rebuild lower end and bored out top end with all new bearings and gaskets and rebuilt crank new rod and piston total price $550 parts and labor

It all depends on how damaged the crank is but from what I've heard on here a stock crank is always better than an aftermarket stock tends to be stronger

just rebuild it now before more damage occurs
don't run it anymore learn from my mistake.lol

^^ what hauler said! ask duneracerweston about wiseco cranks! i replaced mine with a new stock crank from fleabay. it was identical to the wore out one making metal just like that...mine chewd wristpin and was tapping loudly on the side of the jug. wore groove in jug at the same time. everybody here agrees the stock ones are plenty strong.

It's that or find a good used bottom end. I was afraid of finding a thrust washer missing when I did my top end a few weeks back (I've had metal dust and, when I go the engine, the filter was littered with aluminum flakes). But, my crank is in AWESOME condition. Still thinking I got a small trans problem. Makes that hum from time to time between 4-6th. And I can change the pitch by adjusting throttle pressure.

one of the worst times to have to do a rebuild man, sucks ass
Good luck though

Yeah, man good luck. You could get a good used crank from a reputable ebay seller. And as far as my bike is concerned, I will just keep up with my oil changes, and run it till it drops. Just changed the oil today (halfway between the breakin period) and there was the expected "dusting" on the filter, but the mesh screen in the drain plug had some metal shavings on it.
