I might be trading my warrior for a banshee, should I? And are banshees as reliable as the warriors? And what kind of maintenance do they need?

Well banshee's have a better resale value that a warrior, and the are quite a bit faster. Not to mention they have a stronger after market following.

But there aren't many motors out there as reliable as the 2 valve 350 4 stroke. The banshee 2 lunger 2 stroke is an excellent motor though..

I had a 92' when I was younger. and 3 of my close friends own banshee's. The things to watch for with the matenince of them is, keeping the carbs clean. They have a tendency to eat plugs. They like to leak coolant (which can cause engine oopsies), and the transmissions need to be serviced regularly..

But in my honest opinion, if you can trade your warrior for a clean banshee. Go for it!! Just make sure that it's in good shape, and has been well maintained.

Ok thanks, what do you mean by" transmissions need to be serviced regulary.."
And how often do you need to rebuild?

Well you would rebuild it when the compression starts to drop.. lol
You really need to watch for air leaks on 2 strokes as well, nothing will kill them faster!!

But as for the transmission on them, you shouldn't run engine oil in them. Use Type F ATF, or a good translube (Like belray gearsaver). But ATF needs to be changed often, and gearsaver is kinda pricey. It'll save your clutch though.

Ok thanks for your help!

My banshee was ride for 2 hours work on for 20 the carbs always need adjustment when its rebuild time theres 2 of everything and they suck gas like crazy

Agreed.. They are hard on fuel, but if you have them jetted properly their not to bad.
I found working on them wasn't to bad? I worked on mine a lot, but not that much. It was a pretty reliable machine. But mine was mostly stock other that some Trinity pipes, and a pro-tec boost bottle.

I don't disagree matius. I grew up with nearly a dozen shee's blasting down my driveway, onto the road, making a left into the sand pit, and tearing up the dunes! Lol. I miss those days. But, imo, a trail bike needs reverse. If that is what you are going to use a banshee for.

Haha I'd be using it for trails but wide open trails, it would be easier to pick up the front end and swing it around then back it up and turn it around and there is barley mud and when there is mud you can go around it.:iagree:
