Base gasket ?

Ok had to tear my motor apart to put a different crank in it. The base gasket tore coming apart.

Ive read wear guys where running without one. Do you just put a thin layer of silicone or what. My motor is all stock except the .040 overbore..

Also will it case any problems with the timing lining up correctly.

yeah just use silicone. i like the black.

What she said^^, I also like ultra grey, just make sure the surface is clean, preferably something like 2+2 or brake clean will do the trick. No silicone works good if you leave any oily residue on the surface. Good luck bro!

Yep i use the ultra gray.


Got it all back together and it started right up. Now just to put the exhaust and all the little stuff back on..
