Hey All,

Just got back from my ATV trip to Black River Falls, WI. Overall a very cool area. Very ATV friendly area - most of the small towns there have an ATV route through town where you can get off the trail and stop for fuel and food. Terrain is flat, and most trails not challenging to ride. LOTS of trails to ride, MILES AND MILES. Many of the turns were only one ATV wide and blind meaning riding fast risks a very costly head on if someone is coming the other way.

The Details: Stayed at Deeg's cabins near Neilsville. Nice cabins, looked brand new and very clean, with window AC. $80 per night for one room cabin (flush toilets and hot water also). Location allowed riding out directly from the parking lot to the trails via 4.5 mi of ATV access route road. If I went again I would stay at the cabins next to the Lake Arbutus Sports Bar simply because the bar is cool, GREAT food, right next to the lake for fishing, and directly on the ATV route.

Clarke Co. trails were very well maintained. Some of the Jackson Co. trails (Black River State Forrest) were in bad shape with literally miles of whoop after whoop after whoop - Painful to ride. Lake Arbutus is right in the middle of the two so if you stay there you can ride directly to either Clarke or Jackson trails. The county trails connect up in Hatfield so you can ride both counties without trailering.

Nightlife at Lake Arbutus and Neilsville SUCKS. Heard it was better in Black River Falls, but never made it there. Marshfield was cool on Sat. night and worth the 30 minute drive. Rose Bowl was a cool bar with a good supply of hotties. Nutz Deep II was cool too, mostly for the name.
