Hey I need some help on bleeding the rear brakes. I am fixing to put new pads on but I dont know how to bleed it right.

Loosen, Pump. tighten, let go, pump, loosen, tighten, let go, pump, loosen, tighten, let go, pump, con't. All the wile keep you eye on the reservoir and make sure it doesn't go empty. The liquid should shoot put after a wile and you will notice your handle resistance becomes greater.

sounds like your a professional at pumping your own caliper!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D with all that pumping, i think your resovior has been dry!!!! or you are blind already!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D thats pay-back for the frame comment, *******!!!

Damn right I'm a pro, your girlfriend is pretty good at it too. Shes emptied my reservoir many times before.

buy a one man bleeder kit, harbor freight, big lots, hell i even seen them at Marcs.. the auto store will sell it for 8 bucks but the other stores its liek 2.50.. that will help a lot especially if you dont have someone to pump the brakes while your cracking open and closed the bleeder nut.

so that bitch was with you, when she wrecked my truck, and got her DUI? i just hope you know, her hands have been in some bad places! And as Warriorgirl goes; U dont wanna play this game! ;D

If your just changing the pads you dont really need to bleed the system..just push piston back in the caliper with a pair of channel locks slap new pads in bolt her back up and go.... unless you think you have air in the system then thats a dif story

Well im working on putting new pads on the rear and i didn't want to start a new thread for this so i have the new pads on but they are dragging really bad like the brakes are always on but their not so should i just bleed them and that will solve the problem?

If the brakes are staying applied then chances are the slide pin in the caliper could be hanging up ( need to be cleaned and greased) or else the piston is not releasing the pressure because its going bad. You would wanna bleed the brakes if you had air in the system from say unbolting a line or running the master cylinder dry.. But that would make you have a real ******, spungy low pedal .. not keep the brakes applied.

See here is my problem the pad on the right is so thick that when i tighten the bolts down that mount the caliber to the carrier it squeezes the pad against the disc. So what do i do?

The slide pin is not fully retracted...its messing your pad alignment up... get a set of channel locks on there and free it up ... get it sliding back and forth .. if its super tight might have to take it out wire wheel it and grease it ..

To take it out you have to take you that allen wrench bolt right? And i CANNOT get that damn thing out its stuck in there good. and i cant get the "slide pen" to move at all.

Come on guys i know there is some one on her that can help me i haven't got to ride in over 2 weeks!!!

Update: there is now NO space between the left side pad and the disc like before what to do now?

If the caliper pin is not moving at all you have to break it free. It also looks like the inside boot isnt in all the way those are a bitch to keep from popping out when installing. Mine was rusted solid would not slide or turn I broke it free with the impact and used the dremel wire brush on it. Then of course coat it well with some good caliper grease. There should be a washer also between the pin and the bracket.
