Hey guys.. when i start up my warrior with choke on i can tell its burnin oil..with choke off i dont really notice it at all. b4 winter i had the motor open and replaced rings and honed the cilinder..could the valves need adjusting? not sure if that would make it burn oil or not.
Thanks!

I had the same thing going on since I bought mine. It's the valve seals, and the colder the weather is, the worse it would smoke, but once it would warm up it would be fine. If the smoke stops once it's warmed up you don't have anything to worry about, just keep an eye on your oil level. Eventually it will get worse though, last winter I would barely notice it, then over the spring and summer it wouldn't smoke at all, then when the weather got cold again this year I thought I had a 2 stroke for the first 2 minutes it ran, I had to stand away from the shed until it warmed up a little.

Yeah..thats the problem im having to a "T"
My father in law actually said to me "is that a 2 stroke"
When i first started it up. Im glad to hear its kinda normal...last thing i wanted to hear was the word "rebuild" I have one more question..Im in wisconsin..and its cold. My warrior seems to hate the cold...Will not start without some serious choke action b4 it will idle on its own, Is this normal? Also, will it run start better come summer? I bought it from a friend and never drove it when he had it in the winter.

Mine does the same thing, for some reason, it was really bad a few times, now it doesnt do it so much. I did run it on valvoline maxlife once, that seemed to help. BUT DO NOT RUN THIS OIL IN A WARRIOR OR ANY BIKE WITH A WET CLUTCH SETUP. I learned the hard way, burned a set of clutch plates in about 2-3 rides. But the smoking stopped haha.

I always had to choke my warrior whether it was hot or not outside so its normal. But it will start easier during the summer.

Using the choke in cold weather is normal, but if you need to use it for more than 15 or 20 seconds, or if it hiccups into the carb you should look into jetting up a little bit, becuase these things are signs that it's running too lean.

it's not necessarily a "normal" thing for it to smoke, but it's not something to be really worried about, it's not worth tearing everything apart to fix it unless it really bothers you. I was kinda embarrassed when I took it up to the mx track the last time and it was smoking the guys next to us out of their trailer.

Thanks for the advice..The other thing i notice too is when i shut it off..i always hear a "klunk" noise...and every once in a grate while about 2 seconds after i shut it off ill hear a little "pffft" from the exaust..any of this normal?

The clunk is normal, it's the starter clutch engaging when the engine stops.

The flare up sound from the exhuast isn't normal, if it does that there's unburned gas in your exhaust, and you're hearing it shoot through the pipe as it burns. Mine did that when it was running lean. Adding that with your hard starting leads me to believe you need to rejet richer.
