Busted a Zerk fitting.. anyone have a trade secret

I was greasing up the ol blue and as i went to pull off the grease tip BAM i popped a zerk off.. puzzled i pulled it out of the gun with no problem and went on to another.. BAM pulled another one off!! :AARRGGGHHHH!!::

I know i gotta drill and tap the hole, but i wanted to check to see if anyone has a trade secret before I get into that..

possibly a small easy out

on my grease zerks i just took the tip of a pair of needle nose in the hole and screwed out... they shouldnt be tight because the actual part where you put the wench is what gets tight....should just screw out like that and screw a new one in... let me know if u have any luck...

i was gonna get some easy out's tomorrow, and ill try the needel nose plier trick

i know they are metric... but not sure what exact size... i got mine at Car Quest hope this helps

I searched and searched and finally broke down and got a OEM one.

i bought mine at advance auto.. they only had one size came in a package of 8, yes they are defiantly METRIC.
