I want a diff. quad with more power and dont wanna break the bank with the warrior. Theres a 2001 cannondale FX400 for sale for 1500 or trade..he said it needs "minor" parts. I need to find out what it needs but my uncle used to have one of these and it was bitchin..what do u guys think..i now there was a problem with the ball joints..but is this a good buy. Brand new all cannondales were 7500+. What is the aftermarket market for these quads? And they come with alot of aftermarket parts from the factory?

afaik the frame and corrosion was a big factor. They had Alum frames, and were Very prone to bending if i recall correctly.

All I can say is don't do it either, especially 2001, that was the year I think they had a major issue with the crank shafts having catastrophic failures, meaning they just destroyed the motors. A new company purchased the Cdale lot and supposedly made some serious changes, but they still want to get rid of the rest of Cdales remaining supply before the good stuff goes out. If you have time and some money they can be awsome quads, but you have to know what your doing. Check out www.exriders.com they have some people that got Cdales to make 60 motor HP. Read into it and get some good first hand knowledge before investing.

yeah i know its a z400 with a diff. hood..but for 1500 it wouldnt be bad as long as the motor held up..if another company bought them out then why arent they releasing new models?
