I came home tonight to a message on my answering machine that i assumed was going to be good. They finished the top-end re-build and its running...and then the guy says but its having carburator issues and the part the it needs yamaha does nt offer a replacement...WTF?. Then he goes on the say that i will need a new carb. What part would it be that cannot be replaced? Im going to call them tommorow when they open but i really would like to know what the hell part it could be. And how much is a new carb? Should i just pay them for the top end and buy a used carb off the net?

Thanks in advance
Jacob

There should be replacement parts for the carb, Sometimes dealers think they can take advantage of people and sell them something they dont need. Find out what part the carb needs and tell us.

Ok but is it even a possibility, that seems stupid that they wouldnt have replacemtent parts. Does the raptor 350 have the exact same carb?

there most likly trying to get your money, you can find parts for anything. So untill they prove to you that its broken and you find out what it is dont get it from them, dont get anything from them anyways you can get parts cheeper probly anyways if you order them yourself.

The dealers and shops did the same thing to my friend.... he brought it to me and there was a very small piece of the idle assembly broke off therefore it wouldnt idle..... i simply adjusted the cable up to allow it to idle and saved my friend hundreds.

The dealer is now telling me that they think the previous bike the carb was on burnt up. The a spring in the carb is broken or some ****. Im realling getting hacked off. Im just gonna go pick up the bike and take care of thisa carb problem myself. Oh ans they said a new carb is gonna be $260

if it comes down to it, get an edelbrock instead of the stocker. but i bet you will be able to find a part, or a cheap carb off ebay to steal the part off of...
