Ok. So I'm new to atvs and mechanical stuff in general. I've rebuilt my arbuetor in my 87 warrior and there are two things. The valve seat in the carb on my bike had a filter on the bottom of it, but I could not get it off of the old one nor did my rebuild kit come with one... Is it necessary? I don't see it on any of the carb rebuild videos or forums. The other is that I have two extra parts that I'm sure aren't extra and I've no idea where they go, my carb doesn't appear to have them. Can anybody help? Much appreciated!!

I'm no expert either, but I'd think the washer goes either on one of your screws or likely a jet. Check that they your jets have washers. The spring I'm not sure. Actually looking at my Moto 4 Clymer manual it looks like the spring goes to the "coaster enrichening diaphram". It looks like a circular black piece with a white cover over it? Definitely one of the bigger pieces of the carb. Have no idea if that will help you.

If I remember correctly the washer goes with the needle and the spring is a replacement for the idle adjustment screw.

Hmm, the spring is short and kinda fat and very small. About 1/4 the size of the accel. spring. The washer doesn't appear to fit anything? It's also very tiny. Smaller than the one that goes under the main jet. Figure I can try it out and if it doesn't work just wait until my manual comes in. I appreciate anybody that thinks they might know, I'm willing to try whatever you got.

Ok I installed the carb and the bike started right up but instead of revving high and dying, it stays high, even if the throttle screw was all the way out. And if I pull the choke out, it revs even higher. Up side is it sounds much better.. Maybe I should wait for the manual :-O

Check around the boot make sure you dont have any tears or leaks that will make it idle high..

Checked the boot and aside from a few scratches it looks ok. I rode it up and down the street and I feel like the exhaust pipe is getting really hot at the front still. Shifts and rides alright, it's just the idle. Oh. And now it won't start with a battery, I have to bump start it so it looks like ill be tearing the electronics apart too. :-/

Small washer is extra in rebuild kit. Must b a kit for more than one carb and ours don't use it. Had same question when I did mine. Spring IS for idle adjust screw. If u don't have a spring on yours it may b your idle prob tho I don't see how.

My shindy kit had two of those washers. Guess I shouldn't assume he put one there and still has an extra like I did! Oops. Good call bones

The air/fuel screw? The one fat and flat on top with a pointed bottom? I had a friend tune the carb and it runs amazingly now, it sounds perfect and I never installed the spring or washer and it still sounds good.
