So a few months back I got a "big gun overrev" cdi box, and had it work for one brief test ride. I was dealing with some unknown carb issues at the time and now that I have those sorted with the stock cdi, I'm revisiting the upgrade as it were.
Thing doesn't want to start with the upgraded cdi, im assuming it's because it advances the base timing a bit. Am I supposed to run this a bit richer? Twiddle the thingamabob for good measure? Fwiw, im running the fcr carb, but general tuning advice for hopped up cdi's appreciated

Also just a thought but could it just be the slightly old fuel I'm using be the culprit? Easy enough to find out I guess

I never noticed much of a change with the big gun cdi but if the curve is too advanced at idle it would be hard to start. My opinion, they're made by procom which isn't known to be the more reliable.

Yeah I checked out their page and most of the tuning tips were just to rejet for their exhausts. Imma see if some fresh higher octane does the trick and report back. Didn't go too hard trying to start it, doing a little carb testing/tuning with the stock cdi, I'll note my settings and play with the new one.
