Now im gonna finish tearing it apart to inspect everything so i dont get anymore surprises

It's supposed to have locking tabs that fold over on it, I guess they've been broken off. I'd be tempted to try a lock washer or nothing more than blue loc-tite. I love loc-tite but I hate how it can make such a nasty mess of things occasionally.

ya it had a folding tab but the cam gear and chain is actually still in great shape
