I'm changing my front sproket out because of wear but my rear is fine. My Question: Is it imparative that I must change both sprockets out? My friend says "yes" but really cant elaborate. I figured yall atv'ers might have an answer for me. Thanks Seal

yeah, you really should replace both sprockets and the chain at the same time. If you don't it's not all going to mesh as well as it should, and will wear the new parts out quicker, and maybe even cause the chain to jump off the sprockets.

If the front is worn that bad you should replace the chain and both sprockets together. The sprockets are warn into the chain and the chain into the sprockets. Changing just one will cause premature wear on the sprocket. You can change just one, but ideally you should change the whole set.

Guys, I really appreciate it. Im working on a limited budget but since Iwant to keep it reliable I'm gonna replace everything.
Thanks Again, Seal

don't cheap out on the chain when you get one. At the minimum get a name brand o-ring chain, i would recommend getting and x-ring chain over the o-ring though since they're only a couple bucks more.

why is the x ring chain better? does it hold lube better? i am nearing this maintenance on my machine soon, thanks.

Yeah the x-ring is suppose to keep more dirt and keep more lube in thus lasting longer, my next chain will be an x-ring.
