cluch plate question

i am about to mess with my clutch and put some thicker plates in it could i take out the two wave discs and put two insted of one thick plate in the pack?

1 thick plate would be more than enough if your taking the 2 wave washers out if you go to thick the springs will bottom out and clutch won't work
