I replaced my one way bearing...put it back in with cover all tight and sealed...I crank it a few times then all of a sudden I lose compression...take it apart don't see anything wrong so put it all back together...crank it,have compression then all of a sudden again no compression...any idea what it could be??? (87' Warrior)

Valve sticking open? You pull the vale covers and look in when the compression is gone? You testing it with a compression tester?

no I don't have a compression tester...but I can feel lots of compression when I block the hole with my thumb....didn't check the valves at all...I'm a newbie at this...what would cause the valves to stick??

I'm using the elctric starter then I seem to lose compression...not using my pull start

so it still has the pull starter on it? Maybe your decomp lever is getting flung up and stuck.........but I doubt it.

and yes still have the pull start but not installed cuz I keep taking cover off

Your Decomp switch is on the exhaust side valve cover, follow up from where the exhaust port is.. It's just an on/off switch look'n thing.

Take it off (3 allen screws).. Check the spring, and function.. It could be mess'n you up?

got lots of compression now..thanks for the help.....but made a rookie mistake. forgot to put the spacer back in so the stator was coming loose

now all of a sudden I don't have spark anymore...any idea what it could be or where do you start to find what the issue is??
