Ok so there arent that many ways to lock up a quad besdies chaining it to somthin.I heard that there is somthin called a disk lock it locks on the disk brake and the quad cant move.Any one ever hear of this?If you got 1 post up pics.If you have a link to were you can buy one post that up.THANX

I've seen them before, but i don't remember where. It's just like a lock with a slot in it instead of the u-bolt part, and you slide it over the rotor and the pin locks through one of the slots or holes in the rotor. An inexpensive alternative to this would be one of the big U-shaped bicycle locks through the rotor.

I'm not so sure about how effective one would be though. It may make it a little more difficult for thieves, but it still wouldn't be that hard to get by. You can easily drag a quad even if the rear wheels are locked, and if they got it started, it would probably be possible to tear that caliper right off the mounts, but then i guess most skid plates would catch it, if it did bust the caliper off. But it could still be dragged away regardless. I think chaining it to an immobile object, such as a chevrolet truck, would probably still be the best way to prevent theft. (anchors are about the only thing chevys are good for anyways)

whats a good way to lock up a quad then? Put a chain threw the sprocket?

This thread kinda belongs in the General section, but anyway, a cheap alternative would be a long enough chain to chain the back 2 wheels together, would make a real pain to try and get away with that.

take the shifter off when its in 1st gear? anything will be taken....keep your things locked up and safe. even a secure storage place wasn't able to stop them from stealing my first 02 warrior.

i have a dual lock garage with the locks only exposed in the.......... then i have my bikes chained to................ whixh are then chained to....... which are THEN chained to .......
YOu think im gonna give a full read out of how i keep my bikes secure, all you guys are criminals ;-)

Haha I just ride mine into the shed, toss the key in the cabinet, and close the doors. That's it. I live out in the country though, and i never heard of anything getting stolen in the area so i'm not worried about it.

haha, my shed's a peice of ****, you could cut threw it with a fork lol
I keep all my boat parts, holiday decorations, stock/ lefter over/ extra quad parts, and like 80 thousand sets of tires haha

Hey it doesnt matter how you lock it up. If someone really wants it they will get it. My warrior was stolen about a year ago. The guys who took it pushed a car out of the way cut two locks, moved two riding lawn mowers a wheelbarrow, a bunch more crap and then cut three more locks that were on the warrior. They also used my toolbag and took all of my tools. I was lucky and found it a week later, and got it back. My recommendation would be to get insurance.
